2012 Reflections | 2013 Colors

Pink Fireworks

As we begin our Circle of Colors monthly inspirations for 2013, we take time to reflect on our chosen color selections of 2012 and how these might shape our hues throughout 2013.

In August 2012, we launched Circle of Colors with the hues of Yellow This was strategically selected as we partnered with Special Olympics Illinois to create our corporate team, The Sunshine Paddlers, for the 7th Annual Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby.  Our corporate initiative, Color Outside the Lines, affords us the ability to go beyond our normal business model to give back to select organizations, businesses and our communities that we live within and value.  We again plan to support Special Olympics Illinois in 2013 with bright shades of yellow in our colorful attire and festive derby hats!

September 2012 brought about the sharing of colors mid-month, as we focused on the hues of Green and Purple.  We selected Green with our corporate commitment to be environmentally-conscious, eco-friendly and reflective by offering recyclable products and items.  We changed mid-month to Purple with our strong support and advocacy of Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association.  Ensure your calendars are marked for May 11, 2013 for The Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala, held annually on Mother’s Day weekend at The Hilton Chicago and for October 22, 2013 for The New York Rita Hayworth Gala, held at The Waldorf Astoria.  Both are spectacular Purple events!

Red was featured for October 2012 in our quest to be non-traditional and to bring awareness to the rich and vibrant color, its vividness and its power.  If you don’t know about The Travelling Red Dress, Google it today and be daring for the New Year!  We hope the color Red inspires you to wear Red often and with great confidence!

November 2012 spotlighted the color, Blue.  While clients and friends suggested other colors, we took the approach to showcase this color uniquely, and in special ways, with all of our events and experiences.  We desired to be bold, different and creatively innovative.  We were grateful and thankful for your many comments and compliments with our events, ideas and offerings.

The “color of the year” – Orange – was featured for December 2012 to the amazement and astonishment of many!  However, once clients, friends and family saw what we created and crafted, people began to see more of the possibilities of using color to be unique, personal and special.

As we begin 2013, we launched with Pink!  Commonly used for Valentine’s Day and Easter, we hope the “color of love” will inspire you to be bright, bold and alluring for January 2013.  Our signature weddings and events within Purely Personal are sure to delight throughout the year.  One of our favorite flowers to use in our signature wedding bouquets, or with any corporate or private event, is the aromatic peony.  These flowers are romantic, calming, and offer an uplifting spirit to any special occasion.  Their scents are fragrant and sweet as the flower itself, further offering a sophisticated elegance to any affair.  Whether it is the delicate peony or another favorite flower, let us create and design your next perfect event!

“Almost all words do have color and nothing is more pleasant than to utter a pink word and see someone’s eyes light up and know it is a pink word for him or her too.”

We are a Box of Crayons

While walking in a toy store
The day before today,
I overheard a Crayon Box
With many things to say.

“I don’t like Red!”, said Yellow.
And Green said, “Nor do I!
And no one here likes Orange,
But no one knows quite why.”

We are a box of crayons
that really doesn’t get along,
Said Blue to all the others,
“Something here is wrong!”

Well, I bought that box of crayons
And took it home with me,
And laid out all the crayons
So the crayons could all see.

They watched me as I colored
With Red and Blue and Green,
And Black and White and Orange
And every color in between.

They watched as Green became the grass
And Blue became the sky,
The Yellow sun was shining bright
On White clouds drifting by.

Colors changing as they touched,
Becoming something new
They watched me as I colored
They watched till I was through.

And when I’d finally finished,
I began to walk away
And as I did the Crayon box
Had something more to say…

“I do like Red!”, said the Yellow
And Green said, “So do I!
And Blue you are terrific!
So high up in the sky.”

We are a Box of Crayons
Each of us unique,
But when we get together
The picture is complete.

BLUE!

The Huestudio + Company, LLC is delighted to share our first post with our community of current clients, friends, colleagues and prospective clients and customers.

Colors, and using them wisely, throughout our company, our products, our portfolios and world are vitally important.  We obtain positive energy, inspiration and excitement with vibrant colors and hues that are big, bold, bright and vivid.  Taking inspiration from our colorful logo, we launched the “Circle of Colors”, our branded monthly newsletter, weekly blog and monthly Face Book hue that spotlights a specific color while offering daily, uplifting and inspiring offerings.

For November 2012, and to acquaint you with our primary logo colors, we spotlight, Pantone Blue 5483.  Throughout the month, “like” and follow our FB page, www.facebook.com/thehuestudiocompany for variations, multiple shades and unique, inspiring photographs and notations of Blue.

The color, Blue, is the overwhelming “favorite color.” and is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed.  The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives.  Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic – an engaging color that expresses exhilaration.  Indigo, a deeper blue, symbolizes a mystical borderland of wisdom, self-mastery, and spiritual realization. While blue is the color of communication with others, indigo turns the blue inward to increase personal thought, profound insights, and instant understandings.  Blue is the least “gender specific” color, having equal appeal to both men and women.

So, grab a copy of “Blue” by Leann Rimes, turn up the volume and start your November off right!  “Blue.  Oh, so lonesome for you.  Why can’t you be blue over me?”
